Peak District Rural Housing Association was formed in 1990 by a group of local people sharing a concern about the lack of affordable housing in the Peak District and the surrounding areas.  An important principle for the Association is the provision of homes to help maintain and support people's family relationships or local connections.  Most homes are for rent, and some have been built for shared ownership.

Key to the success of Peak District Rural Housing Association is the support it receives from local authorities and other registered social landlords.  The Association’s prime aim is to build on these valued partnerships.

Midlands Rural Housing provides development, housing management and maintenance services to Peak District Rural Housing Association.
